Milford Haven Port Authority is a trust port with responsibility for over 22 miles of waterway and is one of the largest ports in the UK with over 10,000 ship moves each year. We are currently supporting the development of two LNG terminals which will substantially increase the port’s activity from 2009.
Starting salary £46k with progression up to £70k
As a Pilot you will be responsible for the safe movement of vessels from sea, berth and anchorage. This will include facilitating the completion of the vessel’s passage plan; liaising with the Master, Port Control and other users and acting as the Authority’s representative on board in the event of an emergency.
An excellent communicator, you will hold a Class 1 (Foreign Going Master) Certificate and have recent sea-going experience in a watch keeping navigational role. Previous pilotage experience and/or service in tankers would be desirable.
